MY FATHER'S BIRTHDAY -A TRIBUTE

 


My father Debdut Gupta's Birthday is on the very first day of New year,that is 1st January.He passed away on 24th May of 2022.
He was so enthusiastic and vivacious about all the matters of life. He supported me in every task and decision of my life.He wanted to live long that could not happen.Since his childhood he was a brilliant Singer,Writer and Sports person.Being the eldest Son of a Lower Middle class family he had to join Government Job at a very tender age.Could not continue his study with English Honours further. After B.A degree he dreamt to be a professor of English. But couldn't do it because of financial crisis of the family.

His mother Kamala Gupta and father Deviprasad Gupta both were Government employees and was running a life of Hardship with all their Brothers and Sisters.
Debdut Started pursuing singing very early. He got to meet many personalities of Musical World like his First music Guru Janaki nath Dutta,Harihar Shukla, Manna Dey,Pulak Bandopadhyay, Hemanta Mukhopadhyay,Jayanta Bose and many others. Recognised by them as a true talent he felt blessed with a melodious Golden Voice. He used to go deep down in melody while practicing singing.A normal Harmonium and Tabla was enough for a concert of him.He always sang in his original voice and his special inspiration was the Golden Voice of Hemanta Mukhopadhyay.
But he never copied anybody,only followed their positivity.
He performed at over 100 Musical Concerts at every Popular Function Hall of Kolkata, The programs in which he participated was honorary and Professional also. He used to be the captain of his office and local Cricket Team,and composed some verses beautifully in English and Bengali language.
His heart Touching applications to the officers caused to solve many problems of his fellow employees.
Music was his Priority of life. He sacrificed many important things and lost many opportunities which life offered him,only due to his heartfelt practice of musical lessons.He got Acting offer in telefilm for his handsome Angel like Appearance.Even he was offered the Role of Nayak- Gayak in Yatrapala of villages.But he had to refuse the offer to Continue his Government Service. He holded dual post of Head clerk and Accountant in Saltlake Sech Bhavan for many years. 
Today he is no more on the Earth.We pray for his Soul's Salvation to God. Hope for him A New Fresh Birth where all his dream will be fulfilled. In front of his photo my Mother is shedding tears.But I know how tough it was to deal with him in Practical life. Being a patient of Asthma he consumed steroid medicines and Injections since a very young age.All these affected his Nerve , Brain and Bone very fast. These irritation caused eccentricity in him For which he suffered a lot. Brain Stroke, Paralytic attack and Scoliosis was the problem which he died of.

A Memorable Marriage

  My husband's head assistant Sukanta recently celebrated his sister's marriage where we all were present from my husband's side.  The marriage hall was very gorgeous and a lot of people coming there. That evening was really special. Special starters like Momo both chicken and veg, crispy paneer,fuchka coffee all we enjoyed. Peas kachuri,chana daal,polau, chicken and paneer for veg were arranged. We spent almost 4 to 5 hours there then got back to home. Sutapa and Utsav reception party was the next charm. There we reached at 8:30 pm. Veg and chicken pakoda with coffee and fuchka was welcome items. We blessed the bride and groom whole heartedly.  There too we enjoyed the same kind of food mentioned above. Sutapa and Utsav were looking bright in their beautiful dresses. All our closer aquintance were present there.  These two days party with my husband is really memorable for me.

DEATH OF BHOKU- My Pet Parrot

 Bhoku was my pet parrot in childhood days.I always prayed for her long life. And prayed that her death should be calm and sound when the day will come. God granted my wish. When she died. Only one day she suffered from fever. Then left us forever. But her soul was always with me. I was in 12 th standard when she died. We decorated her bed with pillows and flowers. Decorated her as a Goddess with ghagra choli, crown and other ornaments, Lying down on a small bed. Then made this tomb. With a tub, and cement, buried her. under soil where she is still lying down peacefully. With garland and diya I pay respect to her on her death day. This tomb is like a temple to me.  I cherish her memory and Much respect for her new life.
