SUCHITRA SEN -THE LEGEND

The legendary Actress of yore... since my childhood I am watching her movies and exploring her every time. Her beauty and talent is unsupassable I admit but the strength of her character attracts me the most. I have studied her life history book named SUCHITRAR KOTHA by GOPAL KRISHNA ROY and another book JE JON ACHHEN NIRJONE.

These books are revealing enough in details the positive side of her character. My grandmother Komola Gupta and Dipali Sengupta being her remote relative by their aunt's side used to tell me about her when I grew up.

I took her as my Idol and started following her personality as much as possible. I have grown up watching her movies. Even before my exams I never missed to watch her movies if they were being telecast on TV.
Immense power of attraction she bestowed upon me through the silver screen.

Her decision of seclusion and spiritual studies inspired me to take Diksha at BELUR MOTH at a very tender age of 20. I happily celebrated her birthday on 6th APRIL  each year in my home making payesh and cake.

When I was in school I used to copy her filmy characters like RINA BROWN,KOMOLLATA,DEVI CHOUDHURANI,RATNAMALA, RAJLAKSHMI etc while sitting to study after returning from school. I used to dressed up like her and go to the pandals during Puja days.

The black and white era has its own charm which cannot be denied.
But what touches me the most is her decision to leave the glam world behind and living a spiritual secularity. This thing make her the most prominent figure in the celebrity World.
Her nature is irreplaceable in our community.Even after her death I came fast from North Bengal on 14th January 2014 and went to place a garland of white flowers at her image displayed at RABINDRA SADAN.
I BELIEVE MYSELF TO BE VERY LUCKY TO BORN IN BENGAL AND LUCKY FOR GETTING THE SCOPE TO KNOW HER AND FOLLOW HER WITH IMMENSE PRAISE AND DIGNITY.

Following her exactly when she came outside to be photographed for voter IDENTITY Card.

Dressed up like RINA BROWN.

Decked up like AALO AMAAR AALO .

My grandmother Dipali Sengupta also followed her style in her young age.
