GRANDMA 'S FASHION

 



My grandmother Komola Gupta was an intelligent and beautiful lady who was a Central Government Job holder in Telephone Bhavan and worked their for 40 years. 

At the very last stage of life she was suffering from a severe problem. At the age of 80 she underwent 4 operations at Dumdum Eve's Nursing home , Dreamland Nursing home and Sanjivani Nursing home.
After that she carried colostomy bag at the waist.

Thus the days were running but I was adamant to have a photoshoot of fashion modelling of her.  But I couldn't manage to make her agree for that. 
But somehow She agreed atlast.
I gave her a few western costumes of mine to wear . At first she felt shy because she was habituated wearing sarees. But I took the effort to put on the dresses on her slim body. first I wrapped a long cloth around her waist to protect the colostomy bag.And successfully took the snapshots in a normal Kodak KB 10 camera.

After I got the printout I scanned them in my desktop computer and edited the colour and design of the dresses. Also edited the Background using different natural locations. Then made a collage with all the photos together. Next ordered for lamination.Eveything went so smooth.
All my relatives and family members were astonished by my effort.It become a lifetime achievement of my grandmother. She passed away in 2007 leaving all these memories behind. Still now we enjoy her beauty and talent - the Fashion modelling done by her .

A Memorable Marriage

  My husband's head assistant Sukanta recently celebrated his sister's marriage where we all were present from my husband's side.  The marriage hall was very gorgeous and a lot of people coming there. That evening was really special. Special starters like Momo both chicken and veg, crispy paneer,fuchka coffee all we enjoyed. Peas kachuri,chana daal,polau, chicken and paneer for veg were arranged. We spent almost 4 to 5 hours there then got back to home. Sutapa and Utsav reception party was the next charm. There we reached at 8:30 pm. Veg and chicken pakoda with coffee and fuchka was welcome items. We blessed the bride and groom whole heartedly.  There too we enjoyed the same kind of food mentioned above. Sutapa and Utsav were looking bright in their beautiful dresses. All our closer aquintance were present there.  These two days party with my husband is really memorable for me.

DEATH OF BHOKU- My Pet Parrot

 Bhoku was my pet parrot in childhood days.I always prayed for her long life. And prayed that her death should be calm and sound when the day will come. God granted my wish. When she died. Only one day she suffered from fever. Then left us forever. But her soul was always with me. I was in 12 th standard when she died. We decorated her bed with pillows and flowers. Decorated her as a Goddess with ghagra choli, crown and other ornaments, Lying down on a small bed. Then made this tomb. With a tub, and cement, buried her. under soil where she is still lying down peacefully. With garland and diya I pay respect to her on her death day. This tomb is like a temple to me.  I cherish her memory and Much respect for her new life.
